Saturday Night Live (SNL) waded into the Try Guys scandal and made several jokes about President Joe Biden in its second show of the season.
The show lampooned the Try Guys in a segment where Ego Nwodim, who played a CNN anchor, and actor Brendon Gleeson, SNL's guest host, discussed the controversy as his character was meant to be reporting from the White House about President Joe Biden's support for Ukraine.
The Try Guys, a popular YouTube channel with nearly 8 million subscribers, booted co-creator and executive producer Ned Fulmer late last month from the group as the star recently admitted to having an extramarital relationship.
However, the report was interrupted by several instances of "breaking news" where Gleeson's character gave updates about the Try Guys and Fulmer.
In September, Fulmer released a statement on Twitter where he admitted to having an affair with a co-worker. Fulmer previously branded himself as a devoted husband and even co-authored a cookbook with his wife, Ariel Fulmer.
During the SNL segment, Nwodim's character knew nothing about the drama or Try Guys members Eugene Lee Tang, Zach Kornfeld and Keith Habersberger.
Gleeson's character appeared to be aghast by this and told Nwodim she should care, adding: "These are the BuzzFeed pranksters who try stuff, like fingernail polish or weird hair cuts. They even tried eating bugs."
He then interrupted with more breaking news with a cutaway to SNL cast members Bowen Yang, Mikey Day and Andrew Dismukes sitting on a sofa as the Try Guys—a nod to the real-life response video they filmed at the height of the controversy denouncing Fulmer's actions.

Confused as to what the scandal actually was, Nwodim's character asked: "I'm trying to understand why this story is such a scandal. Was this affair not consensual?"
Day, as Kornfeld, then replied: "No, worse. He committed the heinous act of having a consensual kiss and not telling us, his friends."
After the sketch aired, Habersberger appeared to comment on the segment on Twitter where he posted: "Wow, that was unexpected."

SNL Takes Aim at Biden
SNL also took aim at President Biden during its cold open involving the imaginary game show, So You Think You Won't Snap?
Yang as the game show host shared headlines with contestants until each one could no longer take it and broke down.
Dealing with Heidi Gardner's character as the first contestant, Yang read news about how Biden perceived a nuclear threat from Russia.
"On Thursday, Biden said we closer to nuclear Armageddon than we've been in 60 years," Yang's character said.
Gardner's character then responded: "Don't know where to put that in my brain, but I love Biden."
Yang then highlighted Biden's age and shared a video clip of Biden's recent 60 Minutes interview where he talked about his mental faculties.
When asked how his mental focus is by journalist Scott Pelley, Biden responded: "Oh, it's focused. I think it's…I haven't…look."
The sketch then cut back to Gardner's character desperately drinking a whole glass of wine, seemingly nervous about the president's cognitive abilities.
Newsweek has contacted the Try Guys and the White House for comment.
