So You Think You Can Dance June 15 episode will be the first to feature King of Queens star Leah Remini on the judging panel.
The Fox show began Season 17 earlier in 2022 with JoJo Siwa, Stephen "tWitch" Boss and Matthew Morrison as its judges. At the end of May, however, it was announced that Morrison would be leaving his role after just two months.
Morrison had already filmed the audition episodes at that point, so Remini will replace him as the competition heads into its "Dancers Dozen." That episode (SYTYCD Season 17, Episode 5) also marks the 300th episode of the Fox show.
Here's what Morrison and Remini have said about what went down on SYTYCD.
Why has Matthew Morrison left So You Think You Can Dance?

When Fox announced Morrison was leaving as a judge, the news came with a statement from the Glee actor that read: "Having the opportunity to be a judge on So You Think You Can Dance was an incredible honor for me. Therefore, it is my deepest regret to inform you that I will be leaving the show.
"After filming the audition rounds for the show and completing the selection of the 12 finalists, I did not follow competition production protocols, preventing me from being able to judge the competition fairly. I cannot apologize enough to all involved and I will be watching alongside you all on what I know will be one of the best seasons yet."
A few days later, People claimed that this dismissal came after what they called an "inappropriate relationship" with a contestant, with whom they reported he had reached out with "flirty" direct messages.
Morrison, however, replied with an Instagram video where he said he only messaged the contestant once, and that his intent was not to flirt with her.
The Grinch Live alum said in the video: "It's really unfortunate that I have to sit here and defend myself and my family against blatantly untrue statements made anonymously, but I have nothing to hide. So, in the interest of transparency, I will read to you the one message I wrote to a dancer on the show."
He then claimed to read a message that read: "Hey, it's Matthew. If you don't mind, would love to get your number and talk you through some things." He said of this: "I sent this because this dancer and I both share a mutual respect for a choreographer that I've known for over 20 years, and I was trying to help her get a job as a choreographer on the show."
What has Leah Remini said about taking over from Matthew Morrison on SYTYCD?

I can't wait to see the artistry that the contestants bring to the stage!"
SYTYCD host Cat Deeley was among the first to welcome her to the show, tweeting: "We couldn't be more excited to have you, @LeahRemini! Welcome to the @DanceOnFox family!" Boss, meanwhile, wrote: "So glad to have you on board!!! Let's goooooo."
