Police said the 16-year-old Black girl was holding a knife when she was fatally shot by an officer in Columbus, Ohio.

Police said bodycam footage showed the teenager had lunged at someone with a knife moments before an officer shot her.

Ma'Khia Bryant, a teenage Black girl, was fatally shot by police in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday.

Police did not identify the Black teenager in the footage, but she was named locally as Ma'Khia Bryant, aged 16.

Police arrested the man after he entered the subway station and placed his AK-47 firearm on the ground. An Instagram video showed him walking around the city with the gun in his backpack.
