Spider-Man: Miles Morales features scores of sidequests to complete around New York City, and some of the most frustrating tasks are the Sound Samples Miles must collect to make a mixtape with Uncle Aaron. In this guide, we'll reveal the source and location of every sound you're looking for in each district.
The opportunity to collect Sound Samples opens up about midway through the campaign, shortly after Uncle Aaron reveals himself as the Prowler. In the introductory mission he'll direct you toward a sound that dings like a bell. Hop in the water and use Listen Mode to approach the buoy with the bell on it. After that, eight more Sound Sample icons appear on the map, one in each district. Here's where you need to go to solve each one.
The Financial District: For this Sound Sample, Uncle Aaron mentions a "sound on a schedule." That refers to this ferry, spotted from the northeast corner of the explorable area.

Greenwich: For the Greenwich Sound Sample, Uncle Aaron cues you in to a "sound that tells time." Hop to the ground and approach this big church. Trigger Listen Mode when you're in the northwest corner of the explorable area.

Midtown: When it comes to Midtown, you're looking for something that sounds like "an electric current." That's this big sign in front of you in the middle of Times Square. You can hit the record button in the southern border of the explorable area.

Upper West Side: From here Aaron takes you to a fire station. The spot where the "station came alive" is somewhat towards the middle area, where a group of firemen can be found having a conversation.

Central Park: In the park you're looking for something that's "quiet on their own, but loud in a group." This refers to the flock of pigeons that gathers in the northwest corner of the playable area. This one has an added trick, though, as you must use your camouflage ability on the d-pad to avoid scaring the birds away. If they fly off, just wait a few moments and they'll return. As long as you're concealed they won't leave.

Upper East Side: This Sound Sample is described as a "soft, steady beat." If you're standing on the ground in the mission area, it's this big dripping water tank right above you.

Harlem: Back in Harlem, Uncle Aaron reminisces about falling asleep to a rhythmic beat. He's talking about the subway system, which crosses over the northeast portion of the mission area.

Chinatown: For the final icon on the map, Aaron mentions a "light, distinctive sound." Hop on the ground and head towards this pagoda structure to the northwest of the mission area. Point your Listen Mode at the wind chimes.

Once you've found all the Sound Samples on the main map, a sidequest will open up called "Back to the Beginning." Follow the waypoint to the Prowler's secret lair, which is located here on the map.

Once you enter, approach the locker in the center of the room and press X to "use the sounds." It triggers a musical lock, which gives you access to the Purple Reign suit.
That's all you need to know about the Sound Samples sidequest in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available on PS5 and PS4 November 12.
