Matt Shaw has finally made his back to the major leagues after a rough start to his career.
As first reported by Jesse Rogers on Sunday, the Cubs' top prospect is being recalled to the big leagues after a short 24-game stint at Triple-A Iowa. Shaw is expected to join the team on Monday in Miami, prior to the Cubs three-game series with the Miami Marlins.

Shaw was the opening day third baseman for the Cubs this season, and his career did not get off to the start he hoped it would.
He struggled big time at the plate, posting a .172 batting average with just one home run and 18 strikeouts in 58 at-bats. He was able to work 10 walks in that span, which was one bright spot from his first stint in the major leagues.
After being demoted, Shaw got right to work in hopes his stay would be short-lived. It's safe to say he accomplished that goal, as he spent just over a month with the Iowa Cubs.
Shaw hit .286 with five doubles, six home runs, 17 RBIs and a .969 OPS across 91 at-bats. He was scorching hot in Triple-A before being recalled, as he had seven hits and nine RBI over his last six games.
Chicago is certainly hoping Shaw can replicate his minor league production and give it some stability at third base. The club currently ranks 27th in Wins Above Average at the position and is in desperate need of someone to step up and earn the role of everyday third baseman.
