Most baseball fans have become aware of the situation surrounding the Boston Red Sox and designated hitter Rafael Devers, who has become growingly frustrated with the organization during the season.
Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller has found a solution to the problem, and that is a trade between the Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals to send Devers to St. Louis and pair him with future Hall of Famer Nolan Arenado.

Off the bat, it may seem like sending Devers to a team that has a Gold Glove caliber third baseman would be the exact same situation he's currently in with the Red Sox.
It is not quite the same, however. As Katie Woo of The Athletic reported in the offseason, Arenado made it known that he would be willing to move across the diamond to first base if the right situation presented itself.
Being able to play alongside Devers could be the right opportunity for Arenado to move to first base and it could also be a move that cements the Cardinals as the clear-cut favorites in the NL Central.
There is also a connection between the two sides that some may not know about. Chaim Bloom, the former chief baseball officer of the Red Sox, is now in St. Louis. Miller made a comment about that connection during his trade idea.
"But wouldn't it also make a lot of sense for Chaim Bloom — who was chief baseball officer when the Red Sox signed the extension with Devers, and in the process of succeeding John Mozeliak as the Cardinals' president of baseball operations — to do whatever it takes to get his man?" Miller says.
A trade to acquire Devers would be one of the biggest moves in recent memory and could help St. Louis secure its first division title since 2022.
