Zastryzny, 33, signed with the Yankees on a minor league deal this offseason. The veteran southpaw made 13 appearances at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, sporting a 4.50 ERA across 12 innings. He allowed six earned runs and two home runs with 12 strikeouts.

Zastryzny has experience with the Brewers, as he made nine appearances with the club last season, allowing just one earned run over 7.2 innings of work for a 1.17 ERA.

Zastryzny was initially drafted in the second round of the 2013 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs. The Edmonton, Canada native debuted in 2016 with Chicago, and spent the next three seasons with the club.
Zastryzny then bounced around the minor leagues from 2019-21. He had stints with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles, Miami Marlins, and New York Mets, but didn't get back to the majors.
His next MLB opportunity came in 2022 with the Los Angeles Angels. He was then with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2023 before his stint with Milwaukee last season.

Across 54 career games at the MLB level, Zastryzny has accrued a 4.30 ERA with 54 strikeouts and just three home runs allowed in 67 innings of work.
His best season outside of his nine appearances in 2024 came in 2023, when he made 21 appearances with the Pirates, sporting a 4.79 ERA over 20.2 innings of work.
The Brewers could use some bullpen help, as they enter Friday's series opener against the Minnesota Twins with a combined bullpen ERA of 4.65, which ranks 24th in MLB. Their relievers have accounted for 168.1 innings pitched this season, which is the fourth-most in the league.
