Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo could be on the move this summer.

On Monday morning, ESPN's Shams Charania shared massive news that Antetokounmpo, the two-time NBA MVP, is 'open-minded' to a trade.

Charania shared the news on ESPN's Get Up and his X account.

Charania also prefaced that Antetokounmpo has not yet decided on his future.

Antetokounmpo was expected to be a name to look for on the trade market this summer, and that expectation just became reality. All 29 teams outside of Milwaukee will have their eyes on the 29th All-Star and future Hall of Famer. At just 30 years old, Antetokounmpo is in the prime of his career and will undoubtedly help any team he is potentially traded to lift their odds of winning a title.

While Milwaukee will do all it can to retain him, this is the first time in his career that Antetokounmpo could play elsewhere for the first time in his 12-year NBA career. Charania also added that teams have called about Antetokounmpo over the years, and that is expected to ramp up as the summer progresses.

Just because Antetokounmpo may be open to a trade doesn't guarantee one will materialize. To start, the Bucks remain committed to keeping their franchise cornerstone, and it would likely take an overwhelming offer to change that stance.

Only a select few teams have the combination of assets Milwaukee might consider worthy in return. As of now, it's unclear whether Antetokounmpo has even outlined any preferred destinations.

That said, there's a case to be made that moving him could ultimately benefit the Bucks. With limited flexibility and few valuable trade assets, Milwaukee faces serious hurdles in building a contender around Antetokounmpo. A potential trade—if handled wisely—could reset the franchise and position it for long-term success.

It certainly is not ideal, but it could work out for them in the long run.

The Antetokounmpo sweepstakes could last for the next three months or so. As we expected, all eyes and ears will be on the 2021 Finals MVP this summer.
