Bucks May Not Want Rockets Star in Potential Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade: Report

Since being eliminated from the first round of the NBA playoffs, much of the talk around the Milwaukee Bucks has been around star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. There has been a lot of speculation about his future in Milwaukee, and it seems that Antetokounmpo could leave town this summer.

If the Bucks do trade Antetokounmpo, the team would be looking for a massive haul. There have already been multiple teams linked to a potential Antetokounmpo deal, including the Houston Rockets.

After entering the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, Houston could look to make a big splash this offseason. Antetokounmpo would bring an experienced star to the roster, giving the Rockets a better chance to win the title.

However, it seems that in any deal between the two sides, the Bucks may not want one of the Rockets' stars. According to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports, the Bucks may not be interested in star center Alperen Sengun

"Houston has optionality, this trade can be structured in many different ways. Houston would be open to trading Alperen Sengun, league sources told NBC Sports, but the Bucks may be higher on a Jalen Green-based trade (depending on how they rate Green). Jabari Smith Jr. is likely part of any deal, and the Rockets have a lot of future first-round picks."

If the Bucks were to deal with the Rockets, they would surely want some young players and draft picks in return. Losing a franchise cornerstone such as Antetokounmpo would hurt Milwaukee, so getting anything to jumpstart a rebuild would be beneficial.

Houston would be a logical trade partner for the Bucks, but whether Antetokounmpo is interested in the Rockets remains up in the air. The NBA is a players' league, so wherever he wants to go will hold a lot of weight in trade talks.
