Butler is the prize of this five-team trade, as he joins a Warriors team that finally landed the superstar they've been seeking.

Butler is a six-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA honoree. However, his 2024 season has been filled with drama.

Butler was suspended three times by the Heat this year following multiple trade requests and rumors. His final suspension came on Jan. 27, when he was suspended indefinitely for walking out of a team practice after being told he was going to be removed from the starting lineup.

That appeared to be the final nail in the coffin in Butler's Miami tenure, and finally, his next landing spot has been revealed.

As for the rest of the trade, the Heat get Wiggins, Tucker, and a first-round pick, which is a pretty weak return for Butler. However, Miami is hoping Wiggins can emerge as a true star as a main option in Miami. As for the pick, it's a 2025 first-round pick protected for selections 1-10, per insider Zach Lowe.

If the pick does not convey this year, it has the same protections in 2026. Then, if it does not convey in 2026, it becomes unprotected in 2027.

This trade came shortly before Golden State's Wednesday night matchup against the Jazz. ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk provided updates on the ongoing situation in Utah.

"After Wiggins came off court following his warmup, an assistant coach, security, Steph Curry all dapped him up on his way back to locker room. In the locker room, couple of players walked over to Wiggins to shake hands with him in locker room. Shortly after, locker room closed," Youngmisuk wrote on X.
