This past NBA trade deadline was one of the more wild ones in recent memory. We saw all kinds of star players be moved around and even had a trade rescinded.
The Los Angeles Lakers rescinded a deal that would have landed them center Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets. During his physical, Los Angeles found multiple areas of concern so the team decided to cancel the trade.

This sent the NBA world into another spiral as rescinded trades are very rare across sports. Williams was forced to go back to the Hornets while Dalton Knecht and Cam Reddish headed back to the Lakers.
However, according to Hornets insider Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer, Williams hasn't returned to the team following the failed trade. Charlotte is reportedly allowing Williams time to process everything before he comes back to the organization.
"It's believed that the Hornets are giving Williams time to readjust to being back with the team. In a bit of an odd coincidence, Charlotte's first game after the All-Star break is on Wednesday at the Los Angeles Lakers."

The Hornets are currently in the middle of the All-Star break but when they return to action, the game will be against the Lakers. It will take place in Los Angeles, putting an ironic twist of events on the NBA schedule.
It remains to be seen if Williams will suit up for the game against the Lakers but the Hornets may elect to hold him out. Williams could face criticism from the fans in Los Angeles following the failed trade.

Williams would have given the Lakers a young, athletic center to pair with Luka Doncic and LeBron James. But his failed physical has left them very thing along the frontcourt. The team did sign veteran Alex Len but he isn't expected to give them much other than being a depth piece.

The Hornets' big man has averaged 15.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game this season. Charlotte will welcome him back to the rotation soon but things could be a little awkward for the time being.
