The Lakers will aim to bounce back after a tough loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.
With the playoffs just around the corner, L.A. is eyeing its 49th win of the season—one that would bring them a step closer to locking in the No. 3 seed in the highly competitive Western Conference.
All eyes will be on Doncic as he makes his much-anticipated return to Dallas. In most cases, when a star leaves a team, it's either through a trade request or free agency, and fans often turn on that player. But Doncic's exit was different.
This time, it was the franchise that wanted him gone. After pushing him out, the Mavericks added insult to injury by casting a shadow over his reputation on the way out.
Doncic will have plenty of motivation heading into this matchup. He'll be looking to remind Dallas of what they gave up—on a night that carries major implications for both sides. A win would push the Lakers closer to solidifying the No. 3 seed, while the Mavericks hope to climb in the standings and make a run at the No. 9 spot.
Also returning to the spotlight is Davis, who is expected to suit up for his 50th game of the season—and his eighth with the Mavericks.
Davis has started to look more like his old self as he continues to recover from the adductor injury that sidelined him earlier. Over his first seven games in Dallas, the 32-year-old has been productive, averaging 20.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field in just under 29 minutes.
In his most recent outing on April 5 against the Clippers, Davis delivered a strong performance, finishing with 27 points on 8-of-19 shooting, along with nine rebounds and a steal in 27 minutes.
