The Dallas Mavericks will be taking on the Orlando Magic tonight as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive. Dallas is battling for playoff positioning within the NBA Play-In Tournament out West.
The Mavericks have seen all sorts of injuries hit them this season, and it's seen them slide in the standings. Coming into this game, Dallas sits as the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference playoff picture.
The team holds a record of 35-38 for the year, and they've lost seven of their past 10 games overall. But this team remains confident in their chances to reach the postseason before the year ends.
However, entering this game against Orlando, a few notable players landed on the injury report. The biggest name was star big man Anthony Davis, who has missed a significant amount of time due to an adductor issue.
Davis made his return to the team earlier this week, but his status for today was still in doubt. The star big man was listed as questionable for the game but will play against Orlando.

This will be his second game for the Mavericks since returning from injury. In his return against the Brooklyn Nets earlier this week, Davis scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists, got one block, and one steal.
Also on the injury report for the Mavericks was center Daniel Gafford and star guard Kyrie Irving. Both players have been ruled out for the contest as they deal with injuries.
Dallas will once again be shorthanded for this game against Orlando. But thankfully, Davis will play and should provide a spark for this offense.

With the postseason quickly approaching, every game has become more crucial to this Mavericks team. They can't afford to drop games any longer and will need to make sure they are taking care of business each time out.
They are tied record-wise for the final Play-In spot, but the Phoenix Suns hold the tiebreaker. Dallas can still reach the postseason, but they will need a total team effort the rest of the way, starting with this game against the Magic.
