Nuggets Reveal Major Injury Update on Aaron Gordon

The Denver Nuggets were able to hold off elimination in Game 6 of their second-round postseason series with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

However, the Nuggets may be without one of their better players for the game. Star forward Aaron Gordon suffered a hamstring injury late in Game 6, and his status for the win-or-go-home contest remains in question.

The Nuggets have revealed a big injury update on the forward, saying that he is now a game-time decision. Gordon went through a walkthrough on Saturday.

If Gordon does miss this game, it would be a massive blow to the Nuggets' chances to advance. Gordon has been a catalyst for Denver all series long, including Game 1 when he hit the game-winning shot.

Over 51 games played this year, Gordon averaged 14.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 0.5 steals per contest. His value to the Nuggets sometimes goes unnoticed, but he gives them a lethal scoring option alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Gordon is also the club's best frontcourt defender.

After Game 6, Gordon spoke on the injury, hinting at trying to play through it.

"I feel OK. We'll see. I'm going to start the recovery process now and make sure I'm getting ready for Game 7," Gordon said.

Denver has been climbing an uphill battle all series long, entering it as a heavy underdog. But this Nuggets team has a lot of confidence in itself, and they are ready to shock the world by taking down the Thunder.

This Denver squad won a title in 2023, and they have essentially the same core group, although three of their top seven players are now elsewhere. They have shown a lot of championship composure in this postseason and will look for it to carry them once again.
