The NBA continues to be one of the wildest leagues across the sports landscape.

All the rumors turned out to be true as the San Antonio Spurs have acquired star guard De'Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings. Fox had been pushing for a deal to get himself to San Antonio and the sides have now agreed to a deal.

The Chicago Bulls are also in the deal, having sent two-time All-Star shooting guard Zach LaVine to the Kings.

Shams Charania reported the news on social media.

Here is the full trade:

Spurs receive:
De'Aaron Fox
Jordan McLaughlin

Kings receive:
Zach LaVine
Sidy Cissoko
3 first-round picks
2 second-round picks

Bulls receive:
Kevin Huerter
Tre Jones
Zach Collins
2025 pick (via Spurs)

The Spurs will now go forward with the duo of Fox and Victor Wembanyama as they look to get back to the postseason. Fox gives this team more credibility on the floor and gives the second-year sensation another All-Star teammate.

The guard has been one of the better scorers in the NBA for years and San Antonio adds a very capable player here. Despite his lack of 3-point shooting, Fox has figured out different ways to be effective on the offensive end of the floor.

Fox is a career 33 percent shooter from distance but remains a lethal weapon for teams to scheme against. Putting him with Wembanyama should unlock the Spurs' offense and help them become more dominant on the floor.

Many had wondered when the Spurs would push the chips in to surround Wembanyama with more talent and the front office now delivers. The Spurs are a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference and they should be able to give teams problems all over the place.

It remains to be seen if San Antonio will move into title contention this season due to this move but the playoffs are now very possible. The Spurs haven't made the postseason since the 2018-19 season when they lost in the first round.

But this move now primes them to break the long drought and be much more formidable moving forward. The once proud franchise got their guy and now the real fun begins out in San Antonio.
