Timberwolves Reveal Big Injury Update on Anthony Edwards

The Minnesota Timberwolves were able to even their playoff series with the Golden State Warriors by taking Game 2 at home. After a disappointing Game 1 performance, Minnesota bounced back to tie the series at 1-1.

During Game 2, Minnesota had a minor scare involving star guard Anthony Edwards. Edwards left the game on what looked like a decently significant injury, but he returned to the game very shortly after.

Heading into Game 2, Minnesota has given a big injury update on the status of Edwards. According to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania, Edwards will be playing in Game 3 against the Warriors.

Even with the minor injury in Game 2, Edwards was able to stay in the contest to help his team win. Edwards scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out five assists, swiped three steals, and blocked one shot.

Edwards playing in Game 3 is a big boost to the Timberwolves' chances, especially with the scene shifting over to San Francisco. Minnesota will look to push forward against the Warriors, aiming to take full control of the series.

Golden State will be without star guard Stephen Curry for the game as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury. Without Curry, the Warriors' offense looked out of sync in Game 2, so Minnesota will look for more of the same moving forward.

Minnesota has used its length and size to disrupt the Golden State offensive attack, similar to how they beat the Los Angeles Lakers in round one. But heading into Chase Center for Games 3 and 4 will be a true test for this Timberwolves squad.

Golden State has one of the better crowd atmospheres in the entire NBA, and the fans will be out to make life tough on Minnesota. But without Curry, things could be very tough for this Warriors team.

The Timberwolves need to take advantage of Curry not being on the floor and avoid dropping any more games. If they can't, Minnesota runs the risk of this series being extended enough for Curry to eventually return.

Game 3 will be played on Saturday, March 10, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
