The Golden State Warriors dropped Game 2 of their second-round postseason series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, seeing the series even up. Golden State was playing the game without star guard Stephen Curry, and the team couldn't muster up enough offense.

Curry suffered a hamstring injury during Game 1, and there has been some concern over his return timeline. But now, there is a potential target date, and it's an unfortunate update for the Warriors.

ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania has reported that the earliest Curry would return is for Game 6. This is a massive blow to the Warriors' chances in this series and could have a direct impact on their season.

"Steph Curry has really been limited to just doing treatment and he's gonna be reevaluated on Wednesday..

My understanding is that he could be back for game six at the earliest"

This certainly is a big blow to the Warriors, especially with the series being tied 1-1. But Golden State will be heading back home for Games 3 and 4, offering them a decent chance to at least steal one contest.

If the Warriors can extend this series, there is a chance Curry could return to help take them over the top. But hamstring injuries are tough to deal with, and they can be very finicky at times.

Golden State will have to go forward without their leader, but luckily, they did trade for star Jimmy Butler at the deadline. Butler has led teams to the NBA Finals two different times, showing he is more than capable of keeping the Warriors' season alive.

The Timberwolves were able to take advantage of Curry being off the floor in Game 2, and they will be looking to do more of the same in Game 3. The Timberwolves' length is already a problem for the Warriors to deal with, but without Curry, it slows the offensive attack down significantly.

Game 3 will be played on Saturday, March 10, at 8:30 p.m. ET from Chase Center in San Francisco.
