Curry is expected to miss at least a week due to the injury. Charania also shared via X.

"The Warriors expect Stephen Curry to miss at least one week with the Grade 1 left hamstring strain, sources tell ESPN. An exact return will be based on how their All-NBA guard responds to rehab with his first muscle strain," wrote Charania.

Game 2 will be on Thursday at the Target Center.

Curry tallied 13 points in just 13 minutes before leaving Game 1 with an apparent leg injury.

The 37-year-old veteran was hurt shortly after driving to the basket and converting a layup. Moments later, he grabbed at his leg and signaled to the bench. Once play was stopped, he exited the floor and headed straight to the locker room with a noticeable limp.

With Curry missing at least Games 2, 3, 4 and possibly 5, the Warriors will need contributions from many key players, including Jimmy Butler. The Warriors traded for Butler to put them over the top, and it has worked out tremendously so far.

Although the Warriors landed as the No. 7 seed in the loaded Western Conference, they have proved to be an elite team once Butler donned the Golden State jersey.

Game 1 worked out perfectly for the Warriors. They only scored 99 points, but they held the Timberwolves to 88 points and a poor shooting night. Golden State held Minnesota to 39.5 percent shooting from the field and 17.2 percent from beyond the arc.

On top of that, the smaller Warriors team outrebounded the Timberwolves, 51-41.

The absence of Curry will be a big thorn in the Warriors' side as he's been great these playoffs. In eight games thus far, he is averaging 22.6 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from three in 35.1 minutes of action.

Nonetheless, history is on the Warriors' side as they have recorded a 9-3 record without Curry in the lineup for the playoffs.
