The Buffalo Bills have locked in one of their biggest offensive weapons, as star wide receiver Khalil Shakir has been given a massive four-year, $60.2 million extension.

Bills and wide receiver Khalil Shakir reached agreement today on a four-year contract extension worth up to $60.2 million, including $32 million guaranteed at signing with $18 million paid in the first 12 months. The deal ties him to Buffalo through the 2029 season.

Shakir's deal also pays him $32 million guaranteed at signing and $18 million per season paid in the first 12 months. He is also locked up with the Bills through the 2029 season.
Shakir and star quarterback Josh Allen linked up plenty in the 2024 season, and he will now remain with the Bills as their top offensive player.

Shakir secured 821 yards and four touchdowns in the 2024 season. He also secured a 10.8 yards per catch average on 76 receptions out of 100 targets.
Shakir missed two games in the 2024 season but became one of the most reliable targets for Allen. Instead of allowing him to play on the remainder of his rookie deal, the Bills chose to offer him an extension.
The Bills receiver is also set to enter his fourth season and has been increasing his production every season since he arrived in 2022. Buffalo drafted Shakir in the fifth round out of Boise State.
Though there are times when draft gems are found in the later rounds, Shakir is definitely a case of that happening. He has emerged as one of the most dynamic pass-catchers in the league.
Buffalo had a strong 2024 run coupled with Allen securing his first league MVP award. However, they once again fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
The consensus was that the Bills were poised to finally make the Super Bowl, but that would not be the case. The good news is the team locked up one of their star offensive weapons for the foreseeable future.
The Bills will need to find another wide receiver to pair with Shakir. Though the team has Keon Coleman, no other pass catcher got close to the production that Shakir put out.
The bad news is the Bills are near the bottom of the league in available cap space, as they are over the cap with a reported $10 million, per overthecap. They will need to make some moves if they want to bring in some high-level talent via free agency.
If the Bills can bring in a true WR1 opposite Shakir, the offense will be even more powerful in 2025.
