The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans have made a trade hours before the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off.
The Browns are acquiring a 2025 fifth-round pick (No. 166 overall) and a 2027 fifth-round pick from the Texans in exchange for two 2025 sixth-round picks (Nos. 179 and 216) and a 2025 seventh-round pick (No. 255).

Texans trade
2025 5th round pick (166 overall)
2027 5th round pick
Browns trade
2025 6th round pick (179 overall)
2025 6th round pick (216 overall)
2025 7th round pick (255 overall)
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the trade details, which allows the Texans to move up in this year's draft while the Browns stack up on late-round picks.

The Browns have the No. 2 pick in Thursday night's first round, and have been linked to Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter.
Hunter won the Heisman Trophy in 2025, as he had 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a wide receiver, and secured 36 tackles, four interceptions, one tackle for loss, and 11 pass deflections as a cornerback.
While many have questioned whether or not Hunter will be able to play on both sides of the football in the NFL, the 21-year-old has made his intentions clear.
"They say nobody has ever done it for real, the way that I do it. But I tell them I'm just different, I'm a different person," Hunter said at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. "I know I can do it."

Browns general manager Andrew Berry has said the team wouldn't place a cap on Hunter, comparing him to Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani.
"It's a little bit like Ohtani," Berry said last week during his pre-draft news conference. "You know he's playing one side, and he's an outstanding player. If he's a pitcher or hitter, he's an outstanding player. You, obviously, get a unicorn if you use him both ways."
"I think one of the things that you can't fully appreciate until you actually see Travis play live is his elite conditioning," Berry added. "Going out and seeing him play at Colorado, he really never comes out the field. It's unbelievable because there are more plays in a college game than the pro game.
"That being said, what he would attempt to do has not been done in our league, but we necessarily wouldn't put a cap on or govern in terms of what he could do. We would want to be smart in terms of how we started him out. I think I mentioned before that we would see his first home as receiver and his second home as the defensive side of the ball."
While most of the focus for the Browns remains on the No. 2 pick, they still worked around the edges with a pre-draft trade with Houston on Thursday. The Texans have the No. 25 pick in Thursday night's first round.
