The Arizona Cardinals are on a late-season losing streak. They lost their third straight game last night despite being in first place in the NFC West just a few weeks ago. Quarterback Kyler Murray is taking responsibility, telling reporters, "I feel like I let the team down today."

The Cardinals were in control of their division after a dominant 31-6 win over the Jets in Week 10, but the bye week disrupted their momentum. On Sunday, a 30-18 loss to the Seahawks extended their losing streak to three games, leaving them two games behind Seattle, which completed the season sweep.

The game's turning point came in the first quarter, when Kyler Murray threw back-to-back interceptions, both of which the Seahawks converted into touchdowns. The team couldn't claw its way back from that early deficit, which also happened to be the first time Murray had thrown consecutive interceptions.

In his post-game comments, Murray seemed to be taking the loss on his shoulders.

"I feel like I let the team down today," the quarterback said. "Self-explanatory. You can't do that... It sucks when you've put yourself in this position. But at the end of the day we have to show up again."

This was a crucial game for the Cardinals (6-7), who now find themselves two games behind Seattle (8-5) in the NFC West, effectively a three-game gap due to the Seahawks' sweep of their season series. The Rams (7-6) also stunned the Bills, pushing Arizona down to third place in the division.

While the 49ers (6-7) won as well, the Cardinals still hold a slim lead over them in the standings, thanks to their earlier win against San Francisco this season.

Arizona's playoff hopes are rapidly fading after losing both matchups to Seattle this season. Their chances of winning the NFC West, which were at 39% according to the New York Times, have now dropped to just 13%.

With only four games remaining, the Cardinals find themselves 2.5 games behind the Seahawks and would need to be near-perfect the rest of the way to have any chance at catching Seattle for the division title.

In addition to their divisional struggles, Arizona is now two games behind the Washington Commanders for the final Wild Card spot. However, the true gap is closer to 2.5 games due to Washington's decisive head-to-head win in Week 4. The Cardinals are also trailing the Green Bay Packers (9-4) and Minnesota Vikings (11-2), both of whom hold tiebreakers over them, making their path to the playoffs even more difficult.

As QB, Murray seems to take these mounting losses personally, but it takes a team to clinch a playoff spot (or to lose one).

"I'm not looking at it like I have to press and become Superman," Murray said. "I don't think that's the answer."
