Kinda last played in a match for Maccabi Haifa on March 29.

Tributes for Kinda poured in Tuesday from several rival MLS teams, as well as the league itself.

"Major League Soccer mourns the passing of former Sporting Kansas City midfielder Gadi Kinda at the age of 31," the Twitter/X post from @MLS read. "During his four seasons with Kansas City from 2020 - 2023, Gadi was a fan favorite for his outstanding play on the field, his passion for the sport, and his spirit of kindness and his generosity to everyone around him.

"We extend our deepest sympathies to Gadi's family, friends, fans, and everyone with Sporting Kansas City."

A native of Ethiopa, Kinda played for several Israeli teams as well as the national team of Israel, where he moved as a child.

According to Pro Soccer Wire, Kinda earned 10 caps for Israel at the international level, and spent most of his pro career in the Israeli Premier League.

Sporting Kansas City posted a photo of the team holding a Kinda jersey to its Twitter/X account on May 10 while their former teammate was hospitalized.

More recently, a video shared by Rabbi Shneor Gueta captured an emotional meeting between himself and Kinda, calling on the public to continue offering prayers and spiritual support.

Kinda thanked the rabbi and quietly added: "Keep praying."
