The Kansas City Chiefs offseason haul has been relatively quiet, with the team landing running back Elijah Mitchell and offensive tackle Jaylen Moore. Now, the team has made more of a splash by adding a corner from their divisional rivals.

Former Chargers star cornerback Kristian Fulton has agreed to terms with the Chiefs on a two-year, $20 million deal.
The move is clearly one that should make plenty happy, including Patrick Mahomes, as he re-shared the news of the Fulton signing.

Fulton ended the 2024 season with 51 total tackles, one interception, and seven passes defended. He also gave up seven touchdowns, a 62.5 completion percentage, and a 103.6 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks.
While Fulton's 2024 season is considered to be a bit down in terms of production and coverage, he is still young and could benefit greatly from Steve Spagnuolo. Fulton has had a rough past two seasons, but he is still young and has plenty of football ahead of him.
Fulton was drafted out of LSU in the second round of the 2020 draft by the Tennessee Titans. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Titans, bringing in four interceptions and 25 passes defended.
One of his best seasons in terms of coverage was in 2021 when he only gave up a 51.4 completion percentage and 71.3 passer rating. The hope is that Fulton can experience another year such as that now that he is a member of the Chiefs' secondary.
The Chiefs are likely not done targeting members of the secondary, as the team gave up 218.8 passing yards per game. While that figure has the team in the middle of the pack in terms of defense, it's a big issue that Kansas City will need to address this offseason.
Kansas City is going to be retooling their defensive output as a direct result of what happened to the team in Super Bowl LIX. The Philadelphia Eagles handily beat the Chiefs, which was shocking to everyone including the Chiefs.
Considering the team is still reeling from the loss, it makes sense that they would want to target some new defensive pieces. Adding Fulton is a nice piece, and he should help to solidify the secondary quite a bit.
