The Los Angeles Rams have moved on from one of their longtime stars.

After eight years with the team, star wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been released. He goes down as a player who will not soon be forgotten by Rams fans.

While the official release happened on Wednesday, it has been known for quite some time that the two parties would be parting ways.

Back on February 3, Kupp announced on X that Los Angeles would be moving on from him this offseason. While the team tried to find a trade partner for him, nothing materialized and they ended up releasing him into free agency.

Following his official release, Kupp has spoken out with a reaction to the final news.

This is an incredibly sad day for Kupp, the fans, and the Rams. It's a move that Los Angeles felt it needed to make in order to improve its Super Bowl chances.

Kupp will end his tenure with the Rams playing in 104 total games. He racked up 634 receptions, 7,776 yards, and 57 touchdowns.

His best season came back in 2021 when he caught 145 passes for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. Unfortunately, over the past few years, injuries have derailed Kupp's career. He played in just nine games during the 2022 season, 12 games in 2023, and 12 games in 2024.

Despite his time with Los Angeles coming to an end, Kupp will immediately become a hot commodity in NFL free agency.

Quite a few teams around the league could use help at the wide receiver position. A few teams have already been mentioned as potential landing spots for the 32-year-old wide receiver.

Among those teams are the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and Seattle Seahawks. Any of those destinations would be a solid landing spot for Kupp.

At this stage of his career, it does seem likely that joining a contender would be of interest to Kupp. If that is a major factor, the Packers could be a very intriguing destination.

Plenty of other teams will likely call Kupp to gauge his interest. He may not be the elite superstar that he once was, but he's still more than capable of being an impact player on a championship contender.

It will be interesting to see where his free agency journey leads him, but it will be strange to see him playing for a team other than the Rams.
