The New York Giants have mulitple needs heading into the 2025 NFL Draft.
That obviously starts at quarterback, but also extends to edge rusher, running back, wide receiver and corner as well.
Thus far, it has been widely expected that the Giants would move toward taking Penn State edge Abdul Carter at No. 3 overall. However, that could not necessarily be the case either.
Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, via one of his sources, Giants owner John Mara could dictate the team to move for a quarterback, thanks in large part to New York previously missing out on Josh Allen in 2018.

"Mara loved Josh Allen back when they took Saquon [Barkley]," the source told Schultz. "He had his Eli (Manning) successor in Allen and didn't push for it. That's stuck with him. What if Thursday night he just says, 'It's my team. I want the QB.' That flips the draft on its head."
That said, regardless of what the chances of that happening are or not, Carter would be extremely difficult to pass up as well. Not only has been been hyper productive, but many consider him to be a generational player at the position.
And with that in mind, should New York ultimately pass on Sanders, Schultz believes it could create a massive fall all the way down into the 20's for the Colorado product.
In fact, he belives Sanders could even be a question mark for the team in most dire need of a quarterback in this draft - the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"Should the Giants take Carter at 3, I'm not sure if there's another logical destination for Sanders until Pittsburgh, at 21," Schultz wrote. "But would GM Omar Khan be a little more cautious, considering he picked Kenny Pickett at 20 just three years ago? That's a legitimate question being asked among league circles heading into the draft."
Either way, odds are Sanders is still a first round pick. Probably even a top-10 pick.
That said it will largely depend on if an when a run of quarterbacks begins, or if an owner steps up and influences the decision to pick him.
