Lawrence will now join the Seahawks to boost the team's pass rush. Considering his production, this is a massive pickup for the NFC West squad.

Lawrence has agreed to a three-year, $42M max deal with $18M guaranteed.
The Seahawks needed to boost their defensive line in a big way, and they have done so by adding Lawrence. The four-time Pro Bowler has 61.5 career sacks over 11 seasons in the NFL.
Lawrence had three sacks and one forced fumble through four games in the 2024 season, but unfortunately suffered a foot injury that would keep him sidelined for the remainder of the year. Despite the injury, the defensive end is one of the best in the business.
Lawrence's best year came during the 2017 season when he secured 14.5 sacks en route to a Pro Bowl nod, All-Pro nod, and Defensive Player of the Year nomination.
The Cowboys were likely attempting to resign Lawrence, but now he gets a fresh start with the Seahawks.
Seattle has been plenty busy during free agency, bringing in Sam Darnold to replace Geno Smith. Smith was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Seahawks have also signed offensive tackle Josh Jones, resigned linebacker Ernest Jones IV, resigned defensive tackle Jarran Reed, and landed former Chiefs wide receiver Marques Valdes-Scantling.
Seattle is clearly attempting to build around Darnold, while also addressing their defensive issues.
Adding Lawrence is going to go a long way to helping the pass rush. The Seahawks gave up an average of 211.9 passing yards per game in 2024, along with 120.8 rushing yards.
Stopping the run is a big pain point for the Seahawks, and now they have a Pro Bowl defensive end who can aid in that. Expect the Seahawks to load up more on the offensive line to help protect Darnold, as Smith was one of the most sacked quarterbacks in the 2024 season.
For now, the Seahawks are having quite a busy and successful free agency, and they landed two of the biggest free agents in Darnold and Lawrence.
