Longtime Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb will officially be added to the SEC Network talent lineup by ESPN.
Cobb was initially drafted by the Packers No. 64 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Kentucky. Cobb's rookie year resulted in 375 yards and one touchdown.
Cobb would emerge as a solid pass-catcher in his second year, especially becoming a favorite weapon for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Cobb and Rodgers would connect for 954 yards and eight touchdowns in 2012.

Cobb's most successful season would come in 2014, when he secured 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to his first and only Pro Bowl nod.
Cobb and Rodgers developed a strong relationship with one another, as Cobb spent eight seasons with the Packers. In 2019, he would play one year with the Dallas Cowboys, and one year with the Houston Texans in 2020.
Rodgers would then use his influence to convince the Packers' front office to trade for Cobb, and the deal was consummated in 2021. Cobb would spend another two seasons with the Packers until Rodgers was signed by the New York Jets.
In 2023, Cobb was also signed by the Jets, reuniting him with Rodgers. Unfortunately, Rodgers was hurt in the first series of the 2023 season. An Achilles tear would keep him out the whole year.
Cobb only appeared in 11 games in 2023, bringing in 39 yards and one touchdown grab.
After 13 seasons in the NFL, the longtime receiver is set to try his hand in the analyst space by joining the SEC ESPN team. Cobb spent three seasons with Kentucky, racking up 1,661 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns along with 1,313 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns.
Cobb will appear on "SEC Now" throughout the 2024 season, and will also join co-host Alyssa Land on "Out of Pocket Presented by Academy Sports + Outdoor."
Interestingly, Cobb has also reportedly not retired from football. Longtime NFL insider Mike Garafolo indicated that Cobb would return to play if the right opportunity arises.
Despite his down year in 2023, Cobb is still the right kind of veteran presence that most teams would contact should injuries or poor play from receivers emerge on their respective rosters. It would also not be out of the realm of possibility that Rodgers would once again convince his current team to bring back Cobb.
The Jets have Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, and Xavier Gipson as starters, but the team could do well by adding a veteran like Cobb.
