Lions Rookie Fires 8-Word Shot at NFC North Rival Packers

The Detroit Lions were the best team in the NFC North last season. Once again, the division is strong, with all four teams being loaded with talent.

For many years, the division ran through the Green Bay Packers. That is not the case anymore. There is an argument to be made that the Lions have the most talent and best future outlook right now within the NFC North.

Within the division, no team likes each other. Every game means something just a bit more. Detroit certainly has no love for the Packers.

Keeping that in mind, a Lions rookie has now spoken out and sent an eight-word shot at Green Bay following the 2025 NFL Draft.

Isaac TeSlaa, who was selected with the No. 70 overall pick in the third round of the draft out of Arkansas, spoke out with his clear dislike for the Packers.

"I hate the Packers with a burning passion," he said.

This is exactly the kind of attitude that will make him a fan favorite in Detroit. Coming into the NFL with a hatred for Green Bay is exactly how the rest of the Lions feel. The rivalry is very much alive and well.

Growing up, TeSlaa was actually a diehard Detroit fan. That has fed his disdain for the Packers.

During the 2024 college football season with the Razorbacks, TeSlaa racked up 28 receptions for 546 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged an impressive 19.5 yards per reception.

In 2025, there is no telling what kind of role the rookie can carve out with the Lions. He has a skill set that could work well within the offense right off the bat.

Brad Holmes, the general manager for Detroit, spoke out with a hilarious story about TeSlaa. He showed up for his pre-draft workout in a Lions jersey, which Holmes originally thought was cheesy.

"I thought he just did a cheesy move, just some fanboy stuff, and I was like, 'Come on, he didn't put a Lions jersey on.' But no, he said, 'No, I've had this since the eighth grade. What better time to wear it than now?'" Holmes said. "And so, I really respected that. But he truly grew up as a Lions fan through and through. But obviously that is not why we were excited to go up there and pick him."

With his hate for Green Bay being made very well known, TeSlaa will now look to earn playing time for Detroit in 2025 and help the Lions take the NFC North and attempt to sweep the Packers.
