The Green Bay Packers wasted no time in locking up star nose tackle Kenny Clark this offseason. The two sides agreed on a three-year deal that is worth $64 million. Clark will receive $29 million of that for the 2024 season.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport of NFL.com was one of the first to break the news of the agreement.

Clark has spearheaded the Green Bay defense since being selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Coming out of UCLA, Clark has made a name for himself in the NFL and quickly proved that he was to be a mainstay of the organization.

Last season, the big nose tackle posted 44 total tackles and 7.5 sacks over 17 games played. He helped lead the Packers to the postseason, providing a large presence in the middle of the Green Bay defensive line.

Clark was heading into the final year of his contract but can now fully focus on the task at hand. If he can perform up to his contract, the Packers will have gotten a steal, considering how impactful Clark can be during a game.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst had high praise for the nose tackle following the agreement.

"He is the model player that you kind of want to build a program around," Gutekunst said. "Obviously, he is a great player. He has been as consistent as you could ever imagine. We're just really excited to be able to extend him and let him lead that group for the foreseeable future."

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur also chimed in on Clark, saying that he was ecstatic a new deal was reached.

"Kenny is the model of consistency in everything he does," Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said on Monday. "His approach, obviously he was participating here all offseason and just the work he puts in. He has guys with him out in California and helping those young guys along. You can always count on him each and every Sunday. I'm really happy, ecstatic that we got that done. I think that guys are fired up for him as well."

With Clark fully in the fold, the Packers will look to make their push toward a Super Bowl run. After getting hot toward the end of last season, Green Bay used that momentum to win a playoff game, ultimately falling to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round.

But entering this new season, the Packers are being viewed as a sleeper in the NFC. Green Bay has the tools to be a dangerous team and will look to shock some people again this year.
