UPDATE:

Love is questionable to return with an elbow injury. He now has a brace on the arm and is sitting on the sideline.

The Green Bay Packers are attempting to beat the Chicago Bears in the final regular season game, but have now suffered a major injury. Star quarterback Jordan Love has injured his throwing hand and has exited the game.

Love getting hurt right now is the worst timing, as the Packers are preparing for a playoff run. Though there are no details about the extent of the injury, Malik Willis is in.

Love was shown on the sideline getting his hand worked out. He still had his helmet on, which could be good news. However, any injury whether minor or not would likely lead to the Packers pulling him period.

The Packers winning on Sunday would only change their seeding in the playoffs, which makes starters playing right now seem kind of odd. Now, it appears that Love could have suffered a significant injury.

Love is likely to get more testing done should the hand injury he suffered be significant. Again, getting hurt right now could not come at a worse time.

The good news is that Love being pulled means he can get a jump on healing if the injury he suffered is revealed to be significant.

Green Bay will play in the Wildcard Round of the NFL Playoffs, and doing so without Love will make their advance questionable. Willis is a solid backup, but expecting him to step up and lead the Packers to a playoff win will be tough to do.

Willis would be against some of the best defenses in the league, as the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and Los Angeles Rams are some of the competitors they might face.

For now, Love will presumably sit for the rest of the game. Even if he begins to feel better, it is likely a far safer bet to not allow him to go back out against the Bears.

Love will be instrumental in leading the Packers to a playoff win. It just depends on the opponent they face, which could be the thinking as to why starters are out on the field today.

Seeding does matter, but not at the risk of starters getting hurt in the final game of the season.
