One of the biggest additions around the NFL this offseason was the Green Bay Packers signing star running back Josh Jacobs away from the Las Vegas Raiders. The Packers signed him on a four-year deal that is worth $48 million, giving themselves a special player in the backfield. Green Bay had a solid running back in Aaron Jones but elected to change things up across the offense heading into 2024.

Jacobs played in 13 games this past season for the Raiders, posting 805 yards and six touchdowns. He brings a new approach for the Packers, which is likely to be used in a multi-back approach this season. Packers head coach Matt La Fleur loves to utilize multi-back systems, but Jacobs will be the workhorse. He has all the skills to do so, and Green Bay will be looking to diversify its offense this season.

Jacobs opened up about his goals going forward in his NFL career, specifically speaking out about how his legacy will be formed. The Packers are one of the most historic franchises in the NFL, so Jacobs showing out with them could play a massive role in how he is viewed down the line.

"I can honestly say that as I'm getting older and I'm playing longer, I have a real goal of legacy," he said. "I think that's a big thing – wanting to play in important games, play in the playoffs, make a deep run and, you know, play in that game if we get there. That's big for me. I think that's the most important thing."

Jacobs understands that the Packers are a young team on the rise and wants to do what he can to help them move forward. Green Bay is considered one of the favorites in the NFC entering this year, and Jacobs could be the missing piece for them.

"I'm one of the oldest guys on the team," he said. "I don't take that really lightly. Coming in and you're seeing these guys, especially these young receivers on the cusp of being a players in this league, and being the face and being in a household staple, and being able to help guide them and teach them little things about what I do or what I see to help them elevate their game to the next level. I think that's a part of the reason why they brought me in here."

If Jacobs can perform well, the Packers could become a real Super Bowl contender. His ability to hit the home run play gives them a boost offensively that they haven't had in a while. His impact should be immediately felt for the Packers, giving them a much stronger claim within the NFC this season.
