The Green Bay Packers secured a playoff berth with their victory against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Despite the big win, the team suffered a big loss with wide receiver Christian Watson.

Watson was rolled on by two Saints defenders in the second quarter following a big 14-yard gain. Though he returned in the third quarter for some snaps, he would eventually be ruled out.

Following the game, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur expressed "concern" over the injury.

"There's some concern there, certainly," LaFleur said after Monday's game. "We're going to get some more testing done tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll have an answer for you tomorrow."

Now, the Packers have caught a huge break with Watson, who appears to have only suffered a minor injury.

According to Matt Schneidman, "Matt LaFleur says the Packers got good news on Christian Watson. Just a knee bruise. Could potentially play Sunday in Minnesota."

Following the initial thought that Watson had severely injured his knee, the test results indicate he only suffered a knee bruise. Watson might also be ready to go when the Packers play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Watson was targeted only once in the game and did not bring in any passes. The week before, he secured five catches for 56 yards.

Watson has been a quality weapon for quarterback Jordan Love. Through 16 games, Watson has brought in 620 yards and two touchdowns on 29 receptions for a staggering 21.4 yards per catch average.

The Packers have already secured their playoff berth, but are now looking to potentially secure the NFC North division. Green Bay is in third with an 11-4 record.

The Packers currently trail the second-place Minnesota Vikings at 13-2, and the first-place Detroit Lions at 13-2. With Green Bay taking on the Vikings on Sunday, they could rise to 12-4, and knock the Vikings down to 13-3.

Should the Packers win out, and the Vikings and Lions both lose their final two games, the division winner would be based on wins amongst the division. There is still a small chance the Packers can take home the division.

At the very least, the Packers can disrupt the Vikings from taking the division win starting Sunday. The better news is they can also do so with Watson back in the lineup.

From the injury update, it sounds like he will just need some rest in order to suit up against the Vikings.
