Packers Star Jordan Love Given Massive Injury Update Regarding Week 3 Status

The Green Bay Packers may be getting a massive boost to their offensive unit this weekend as starting quarterback Jordan Love could be returning. Love suffered an MCL injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil during Week 1 and there was thought he would miss significant time.

However, it seems that the signal-caller may be back sooner rather than later. He has been practicing with the team and we may see him out on the field this weekend against the Tennesee Titans.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided the latest injury update on the chance that Love plays this weekend against Tennesee. He called it a "realistic" chance that he would end up playing.

"My understanding is that he at least has a realistic chance of being out there against the Titans, which of course would ruin the Malik Willis revenge game. But that is a whole different story. He's got a shot. It's going to be out can he be functional, can he protect himself. He's not going to hurt the team by being out there for sure. He's someone that wants to put a brace on it and get out on the field. Just don't know if he's quite going to be able to do it but certainly, he's looking good at least for next week."

If Love can give it a go, it would be almost a miracle considering how his injury looked two weeks ago. He was expected to miss extended time but it seems that his recovery process has been going strong.

Backup quarterback Malik Willis filled in for Love last week against the Indianapolis Colts, helping to lead Green Bay to the big win. Willis spent the first two seasons of his career with the Titans so if he can start against them, he could have the opportunity to remind them of what they lost.

Willis has said that he doesn't care but rather is just embracing the opportunity that the Packers are giving him.

"I could care less, bro," Willis told reporters Wednesday, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. "I think I got paid the whole time I was there. I'm more than blessed for the opportunity they've given me. They brought me into this league, whether those guys are there or not. That organization, they took a shot on me. Miss Amy, they (did) a great job by me, for all I'm concerned."

However, it could all be for nothing if Love is able to suit up. Green Bay's preference would be to have their starter out there but they will also try to be cautious with him to avoid any other issues going forward.
