Former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets wide receiver Randall Cobb experienced a harrowing situation at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, which caught fire this week. Cobb and his wife, Aiyda, updated everyone in a joint post on their Instagram pages, discussing the situation.

Per the post, Aiyda and Randall posted "We are lucky to be alive." They also indicated that Randall was able to quickly act and rescue the family dog, Louie. They also thanked the swiftness of the Nashville Fire Department.
"I can't get the image of the brave firefighter getting into position out of my head; he didn't even have water to shoot yet. I truly thought the cars were going to explode and that we would lose him to this tragedy. He is a true hero," Cobb wrote. "Unfortunately we don't know how much, if anything, will be salvageable, but this has been a reminder that nothing is more important than the health of our family."
According to ESPN regarding the situation, "Aiyda Cobb posted to her Instagram story this week that a Tesla charger 'caught fire in the garage late last night and quickly spread' through their home."
The above Instagram post also showcases a video and images of the destruction that the vehicle caused in the garage alone. The good news is that Aiyda, Randall, their three sons, and their dog were able to escape the house unharmed.
Cobb spent his first eight seasons as a member of the Packers before signing with the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year deal in 2019. In 2020, Cobb signed a three-year deal with the Houston Texans. After just one season, Aaron Rodgers requested Cobb be traded back to the Packers, which the team obliged to.
He would spend the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the Packers and when Rodgers found his way to the New York Jets in 2023, Cobb eventually followed. Sadly, his 2023 season was marred with injury, resulting in his only appearing in 11 games. Cobb brought in 39 yards and one touchdown in 2023.
Cobb is currently a free agent, and there is no telling if the Jets will bring him back. Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles in 2023, resulting in his missing the entire season, but will be back at the helm in 2024.
Cobb is still one of the most proven veterans in the NFL. He secured a Pro Bowl nod in 2014, and would still be a strong veteran presence for any wide receiver-needy team.
