The Los Angeles Rams are officially releasing Cooper Kupp. It was believed that the team could find a trade partner, but that has not been the case.

With Kupp being released, he will now be free to sign to whatever team he chooses. After eight seasons with the Rams, the star receiver is expected to be on a new team in 2025.

Kupp was due $20 million on his contract and would have likely fetched too high a price in terms of draft capital from the Rams that it led to his full release. With this move, it is expected that multiple teams will reach out to try and bring in the former triple-crown receiver.

Kupp secured 145 receptions, 1,947 yards, and 16 touchdowns in 2021, leading to an All-Pro nod, Pro Bowl nod, and an Offensive Player of the Year nod. However, his production has dipped since then due to multiple injuries.

Kupp has missed a total of 18 games from the 2022 to 2024 seasons. In that time he secured 812 yards in 2022, 737 yards in 2023, and 710 yards in 2024.

Though Kupp's production has dipped, he remains one of the most dynamic receivers when healthy. A few teams have already been attached to Kupp, with two being the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys were reportedly said to not be "in the mix" for Kupp, but that was likely tied to his contract and draft capital ask. Now that he has been released, their tune could immediately change.

Green Bay is another rumored team that wants to attempt to bring in Kupp. That would make sense considering Jordan Love needs some weapons to throw to.

Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Christian Watson lead the pass-catching corps for the Packers, but adding a veteran like Kupp would be fantastic for the offense. His veteran leadership alone would benefit all three receivers.

None of the Packers receivers also eclipsed 1,000 yards in 2024. Though Kupp did not achieve that feat either, his arrival might properly the other receivers to get loose for a chance at big plays from Love.

There have not been any confirmations of teams that are inquiring about Kupp just yet, but there are sure to be plenty now that his release is official.
