Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson has a new weapon to play with. Hopkins finished the 2024 season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The deal to Baltimore is worth a one-year, $6 million deal.
Hopkins started his 2024 campaign with the Tennessee Titans before joining the Chiefs via trade. He played in 10 games with the Chiefs and started in five games. In his time with the top-seeded Chiefs in 2024, he recorded 41 receptions on 59 targets for 473 yards. Hopkins averaged 10.7 yards per reception and found the endzone four times.
Hopkins finished the year with 56 receptions for 610 yards, five touchdowns and averaged 10.9 yards per reception in 16 games.
Overall, it was his lowest reception and yardage total since 2021, when injuries limited him to 10 games with the Arizona Cardinals. Hopkins, who turns 33 in June, could find himself further down the pecking order in Baltimore's offense next season. With Zay Flowers (knee) and Rashod Bateman (undisclosed) leading the receiving corps and tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely also in the mix, Hopkins may end up as no more than the fifth option in a passing attack led by Jackson in 2025.
The 32-year-old now joins a Ravens team that will enter the year with title hopes. Baltimore has been title favorites for the past few years and the addition of Hopkins should only increase that. Led by Jackson, the Ravens have a good chance as anyone to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
The Ravens finished the 2024 season ranked third in points per game (30.1), first in yards per game (426.5), first in yards per play (6.8), and second in touchdowns per game (3.8).
The Baltimore offense was among the best in the league, and Hopkins should only help in 2025.
The last time we saw Hopkins on the field, it was not pretty. In his first Super Bowl appearance, he recorded two receptions on five targets for only 18 yards and had one touchdown. The Chiefs were blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans, 40-22.
The Ravens have yet to make the final game in over 10 years, and they are providing Jackson with as much help as they could to help him get over the hump.
