Aaron Rodgers remains a free agent at this point in the NFL offseason. Despite many reports about him likely signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Rodgers has remained non-committal and still has his freedom.
Throughout the course of the offseason, Rodgers has been the talk of the NFL. The 41-year-old quarterback and future Hall of Famer still has some good football left to be played, but he's also the kind of player who could simply walk away from the game at any moment.
Not too long ago, Rodgers made an appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show" and shared that he has been dealing with a personal situation this offseason. He has wanted to figure that situation out before deciding what's next in his football career.

Now, a new update has been given about Rodgers and his current situation by his biographer.

Ian O'Connor, who was the publisher of Rodgers' biography last year, spoke out with his view on the situation during an appearance on 93.7 The Fan.
"Talking to a couple of other people close to Aaron, I think I have a sense of what it (the issues) might be," the biographer said. "I'm not comfortable repeating it right now, but I don't think it would prevent him from playing football with the Steelers."
He continued forward, opening up more about the superstar quarterback's potential future.
"I just think verbally, behind the scenes, not that he guaranteed it, but he's told [the Steelers], 'Listen, I'm gonna play for you. I just don't want to go there and then miss part of mandatory minicamp because of my personal issues. I'm pretty sure they're gonna be solved by the end of May, at least in my satisfaction where I can give you my all.'"

It has been clear that the Steelers are not in panic mode at the quarterback position. They still have Mason Rudolph and Will Howard as their top two quarterback options, but have not gone out and pursued other options.
Even in the 2025 NFL draft, Pittsburgh was comfortable passing on all the top quarterback options. The Steelers didn't take one until the sixth round when they selected former Ohio State standout Will Howard.
All signs still point to Rodgers playing for Pittsburgh in 2025. It hasn't happened yet, but O'Connor certainly thinks there is some kind of under-the-table agreement between the two parties, which would make a lot of sense.
