The Jaguars currently have the No. 5 pick in the first round on Thursday night. However, it appears they could be attempting to move up to land a better player. They could also make a surprise pick at No. 5, or even trade down in a potentially massive move for the franchise.

Russini also reported that there are a handful of teams trying to trade up in the first round, or add another pick on Thursday night.

The Broncos and Texans are attempting to move up the draft order, while the Giants are trying to acquire a second first-round pick at the back end of the round.
The Broncos have the No. 20 pick on Thursday night, while the Texans have the No. 25 pick. The Giants pick at No. 3 and have the second overall pick in the second round at No. 34, giving them ammunition to move into the end of the first round.
As for the Jaguars, they're coming off a disappointing 2024 season in which they went 4-13, finishing the season with a losing record for the first time since 2021. The Jaguars fired head coach Doug Pederson in early January, and hired former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen to replace him.
The Jaguars were active in free agency, signing 10 players including cornerback Jourdan Lewis, wide receiver Dyami Brown, and veteran quarterback Nick Mullens.
Now, the team will look to address their final holes through the draft as they try to get back into contention in the AFC South.
As of now, the Jaguars are scheduled to pick at No. 5 on Thursday night. But it remains to be seen if that's the case when the draft gets underway.
