The Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers decided not to wait until the game started for things to start getting chippy. During warmups, receiver Stefon Diggs was seen walking by the Packers' sideline, where he began to get into words with players.

A report from Pro Football Talk indicated that Diggs and Jaire Alexander were also exchanging words with one another. Diggs and Alexander have had plenty of interactions with one another in the past.

The Texans are currently 5-1 and in first place in the AFC South. The Packers are currently 4-2 and are chasing first place in the stacked NFC North. The Detroit Lions are also 4-1, and the Minnesota Vikings are leading the way with a 5-0 record.

A win here matters a great deal to both the Texans and Packers, as they look to extend their lead in their respective decisions.

The Texans were one of the most exciting teams in 2023, securing an 11-6 record en route to a playoff berth. They would handily beat the Cleveland Browns in the Wildcard Round of the 2023 Playoffs, beating the Browns 45-14. Despite the big win, they were also handily beaten by the Baltimore Ravens 34-10.

Then-rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud put together an impressive performance that nearly led the team to a deep playoff ruin.

The Packers also had a successful 2023 season. Despite a 9-8 record, the team was able to handily beat the Dallas Cowboys 48-32 in the Wildcard Round of the 2023 Playoffs. They would lose a close one to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round with a final score of 24-21.

Both teams have echoed that same success in 2024. The difference is that Diggs was traded to the Texans before the regular season began.

The Texans acquired Diggs from the Buffalo Bills for a second-round pick in 2024, giving Stroud one of the bigger weapons he has had so far in his young career.

Through six games, Diggs has 392 yards and three touchdowns. The hope is he can tack on even more yards against the Packers, and the fight on the sideline might have just been a way for the receiver to throw Green Bay's defense off just a little bit.

It's not uncommon for teams to go after one another during games, but this is a rare occurrence when warmups are when a scuffle happens.
