Texas Longhorns QB and NFL Draft prospect Quinn Ewers is largely projected to be a Day 2 pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

With teams like the Raiders, Seahawks, Cowboys, Dolphins, Saints and many more all on the radar to select Ewers at some point in the draft, he will have no shortage of options when it comes to finding a new home at the next level.

That said, during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Ewers told guest host and NFL insider Tom Pelissero of NFL Network that there is one coach that would really excite him to play for.

Las Vegas Raiders coach, Pete Carroll.

"Coach Carroll would be awesome," Ewers told Pelissero. "He's always talking about 'compete, compete, compete.' I think he says that word 100 times a day. I think it would be super cool to be part of a franchise that they live or die by how they compete. It doesn't matter what you are doing, if you are in the building, he said you are either competing or not. I think that's how I already live and it definitely would be cool."

It is no secret why Ewers would love to play for a coach like Carroll, either.

Even as more of a defensive mind, Carroll has a history of development for quarterbacks as well as putting both young and veteran quarterbacks in great positions to succeed both in college and in the NFL.

Most recently, that has been the case with players like Russell Wilson and Geno Smith in the NFL with the Seahawks, and Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart with USC back in his college coaching days.

That said, there is another that Ewers could be interested in Carroll.

The two already have a pre-existing connection thanks to Ewers's college coach with the Texas Longhorns, Steve Sarkisian, who made his bones in the coaching industry under Carroll at USC, and still considers him to be a mentor to this day.

There is little chance that Sarkisian and Carroll have not at least spoken about the idea of Ewers landing in Las Vegas, which needs a QB of the future after their short-term rental of Geno Smith ends.

Will that be Ewers? At this point, anything is possible.

What we do know, however, is that Ewers would immediately buy into the culture Carroll is trying to establish in Vegas, which would be a major selling point to their marriage at the next level.
