The man who will make the first No. 1 overall pick in Tennessee Titans franchise history has been named.
The Titans are set to bring in Mike Borgonzi as their new general manager under a five-year contract, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
"Deal reached: Titans and former Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi now officially have reached agreement on a five-year contract, tying him to Tennessee through the 2029 season, per sources," Schefter wrote to X. "Borgonzi goes from aiming for a three-peat to now holding the draft's No. 1 overall pick."

Borgonzi, one of six candidates interviewed twice by the Titans, takes over for Ran Carthon, who was dismissed last week after two years in the role.
The Titans finished the season 3-14, which is one win better than their worst season of all time in 2014.

Since joining the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009, Borgonzi has held numerous positions within the organization, including roles in college and pro scouting, player personnel, and football operations. He has been the Chiefs' assistant general manager since 2021.

Following Ran Carthon's dismissal, Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk announced that Chad Brinker, the team's president of football operations, would oversee the search for a new general manager. She also confirmed that head coach Brian Callahan would remain in his position.

Brinker will retain ultimate authority over all football decisions, while Borgonzi, the incoming general manager, will focus on leading efforts in free agency and, of course, an extremely important upcoming draft.
ESPN insider Field Yates weighed in on the Titans' hire, offering a glowing assessment of what Tennessee can expect from its new general manager.

"He has had a hand in a part of every single facet of roster building in Kansas City: a team that has won 3 of the past 5 Super Bowls. The draft, free agency, trades, day-to-day roster management. With the number 1 pick on hand, Tennessee can get to work on getting this roster on track."
Borgonzi will be transitioning from aiming for a three-peat to starting from complete scratch with the forthcoming construction of the Titans franchise.
