A frightening situation has unfolded in Green Bay.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson was carted off to the locker room after going down to an apparent non-contact injury.

"#Packers WR Christian Watson is getting carted to the locker room after a non-contact injury," Meirov said on X.

Update: Watson was later ruled out of the game.

It's unclear if this injury is related to the knee problem that caused Watson to miss last week's game against the Vikings.

Watson was announced active after missing a second consecutive practice on Thursday, Packers coach Matt LaFleur had said that wide receiver Christian Watson's status for Week 18 would likely hinge on his participation in Friday's practice.

Watson returned as a limited participant, which was sufficient for him to return to the lineup as the Packers gear up for the playoffs.

Speaking of the playoffs, this adds to large concern in Green Bay as it comes in addition to quarterback Jordan Love also having gone down in the second quarter against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

After taking a hit, Jordan Love walked to the sideline, where the medical staff evaluated his right elbow. Malik Willis stepped in to replace Love, and the Packers' offense went on to score its first touchdown of the game shortly after.

The Packers won't know their opponent in the wild-card round until after Sunday's games have concluded, but they are most likely to draw the Philadelphia Eagles, with chances to see the Rams, Buccaneers, and Commanders, too.

Green Bay's loss to Minnesota, combined with an overtime victory by the Washington Commanders, left both teams tied at 11-5. With Washington holding the tiebreaker, the Packers are locked in as the seventh seed, setting up a challenging road to the playoffs. They will face a tough opening-round matchup against 13-3 Philadelphia, followed by a potential showdown with either Minnesota (14-2) or Detroit (14-2), both of whom will enter the next round as rested No. 1 seeds.
