A Staffordshire bull terrier called Blue is melting hearts on TikTok, with one viewer describing him as "the cutest dog I have ever seen."

In a video shared to social media by Littleblueblee, the terrier's owner can be seen returning home to be greeted by Blue—and a contender for the cutest set of puppy dog eyes ever committed to film.

Blue's adorable demeanor in the clip prompted his owner to caption the footage: "Disney eyes for real though" and it's difficult to disagree with that sentiment. Watch it here.

The clip has already been watched over 10 million times and could reignite debate around which is the cutest dog breed of them all.

A previous study, commissioned by pet insurance comparison site MoneyBeach, was topped by the Dalmatian. The ranking was based on the "golden ratio" used by scientists to assess what makes things most visually attractive.

In the study, key components of the animals' face, such as ears, eyes, tongue and nostrils, were analyzed and compared to the "perfection" of the golden ratio.

According to the results, Dalmatians boasted a 67 percent adherence to the golden ratio, coming just ahead of the Irish water spaniel and wire fox terrier as the best-looking dog breeds.

Labradors and basset hounds rounded out the top five most aesthetically pleasing dog breeds, with the Staffordshire bull terrier failing to make the top 20.

However, the response to Blue's video suggests that assessment may not be an entirely accurate one.

"That is not a dog, that is a heart melter 10,000," little___ting wrote. Tilldeathdouspart420 added: "I just wanna pet the baby." Tommy Charlton quipped: "That's a cute land seal" while prickle.pear declared: "My will to live has increased looking deep into those eyes."

"That precious baby's face is worth everything!" Katie Baker said with bellasbooks commenting: "that dog is a national treasure." The strongest endorsement came from rat.shton who said: "respectfully .. this is the cutest dog I have ever seen."

This isn't the first time a Staffordshire bull terrier has won the hearts of dog lovers on the internet. Earlier this year, a Staffy by the name of Sonny had viewers in stitches when he pretended to be "invisible and deaf" after being caught sleeping in his owner's bed.

Another Staffy called Einstein earned similar plaudits after he gave an Oscar-worthy performance while being filmed on his owner's petcam. Then there's Dora, whose death-defying leaps out of the door became the stuff of legend after her owner posted a compilation clip on social media.
