Legendary comic book writer Stan Lee died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 95 years old.
Lee, the writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics, was the brain behind a number of superhero classics, Spider-Man, X-Men, The Mighty Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Daredevil and The Fantastic Four among them. Lee launched Marvel back in 1939.
In his older years, Lee suffered a number of health ailments, including a bout of pneumonia earlier in 2018.
Lee faced a number of legal issues in the last years of his life. Following the death of his wife, Joan, who died in 2017, Lee sued board members at POW! Entertainment, a company he created in 2001 to develop TV shows, movies and video games. However, he dropped the $1 billion lawsuit just a few weeks after filing it in July 2017.
