Stefon Diggs produced one of the most heartwarming moments of Thanksgiving with a sweet gesture before the Buffalo Bills took on the Detroit Lions.

In a video that has gone viral on TikTok, the 28-year-old wide receiver is seen giving a young Bills fan a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as he took him onto the field to catch a pass before receiving a pass back from the awestruck child.

Detroit Lions has been a home for Thanksgiving games since 1934 and there have probably not been many moments that have brought more delight to a fan than the one on Thursday.

Diggs spotted a sign in the Bills fan section at Ford Field which read: "All I want for Christmas is to play catch with Stefon Diggs."

The young boy was helped down to the field by Diggs, who then indicated to the youngster to go around 20 yards down the field.

Diggs then sent up a pass which the boy caught with confidence, before he threw the ball back to the receiver, with a perfect spiral, which Diggs caught and then made a point of showing that he had kept both feet in the field of play, on the sideline.

After the perfect catches, the pair exchanged high fives before the youngster was returned to his family in the stands as they shrieked with delight at the opportunity the boy had been given.

Last season, Diggs shared the reason why he likes to get involved with the fans pre-game.

He said: "I've been doing it since I got into the league as far as interacting with my fans, and the team I'm on I've been doing it.

"So, going to my new team, I've heard nothing but good things about them so it's only right to keep the tradition going."

His gesture seemed to have given him some good luck for the game as he scored a touchdown and the Bills beat the Lions 28-25 in a close encounter.

With the Bills keeping their playoff and potentially Super Bowl ambitions alive with the gritty win, Diggs said after the game that the victory came because everyone in the team believes that the next man will get their job done.

He said: "That next-man mindset is real. I hate to preach it, sound like a broken record, but guys came in and played at a high level.

"We just preach it to everybody to do the job. You don't need to do more than your job and you do your one 11th, we'll find a way.

"I tried to tell the guys everything in the past is the past. We didn't get off to the best start, but you keep rolling with the punches.

"Things aren't gonna be perfect; I'm riding with my guy [quarterback Josh Allen]. We just had to try to get on the same page, every week is different… things didn't happen perfectly, but we figured it out."
