Horror author Stephen King has long been critical of former U.S. President Donald Trump and he's now bestowed a brutal nickname on him.
On November 7, the 76-year-old author took to X, formerly Twitter, to slam the 77-year-old business mogul with a short but simple insult: "Donald Trump: Professional Victim."
At the time of writing, the post had received 1.8 million views, and King's words have divided opinion online, with several users jumping to Trump's defense.
Newsweek reached out to representatives for King and Trump for comment via email on Wednesday.

"Stephen King: Professional Crybaby," one person wrote.
"Upcoming biography of Stephen King called The Whining!" said another.
"Stephen King foolish brainwashed so-called man," wrote a third.
A fourth person added: "You just accurately described the democratic party."
Other people on the social media platform supported the writer of The Shining.
"[Trump] has an uncanny ability to have consistently perpetrated crimes while being the victim the whole time," one person wrote.
"You'll never convince any MAGA that they are not both the victim and hero in everything," said another.
A third added: "I agree with you Stephen."

This isn't the first insult King has directed at Trump, taking to X on September 29 to call the former president "Donald 'The Fraudster' Trump."
Days before, on September 27, the author had also taken to the platform to call Trump the "Worst. President. Ever."
King joined the Democratic party in 1970 and has been an outspoken critic of Trump since before the 77-year-old was elected president in 2016.
On May 24, 2016, King was one of 450 writers to sign an open letter opposing Trump's candidacy, with King supporting Hilary Clinton's campaign.
In 2018, he blasted the then-president over his funding demand for a "border wall," urging him to spend the money on aid for children and veterans instead.
"F*** your vanity project," he posted to X, known as Twitter at the time. "Do something good for once."
In 2019, the Carrie writer criticized Trump over his praise for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
"He may surprise some but he won't surprise me, because I have gotten to know him and fully understand how capable he is," Trump said at the time. "North Korea will become a different kind of Rocket—an Economic one."
King responded by implying that Trump was being duped by the dictator.
"Unlike Donald Trump, who doesn't read, Kim Jong-un knows The Art of War, by Sun Tzu: 'Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance,'" he wrote on X.
