Stephen King's Warning for Donald Trump Voters

Stephen King has a warning for those planning to vote for Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential election.

A rematch between President Joe Biden and Trump has been confirmed after both candidates amassed the required delegates on Tuesday.

Polls found that Biden is behind Trump, less than eight months before the November elections, according to aggregator FiveThirtyEight. The president is recording his lowest-ever average approval rating of 37.4 percent. After a March 2 Redfield & Wilton Strategies survey of 1,500 eligible U.S. voters, 45 percent said they would support Joe Biden ending his reelection campaign.

Now King has taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share a message specifically for those who voted for Biden in 2020. Newsweek emailed spokespeople for King and Trump for comment Friday.

"If you voted for Biden in 2020 and are thinking of voting for Trump this time, keep this in mind: In Trump's grab for power, he tried to steal your Biden vote by rendering it null and void," King wrote on X Thursday in a post that had been viewed more than 662,000 times at the time of writing.

This is in reference to the fact that, after the election was called in 2020, Trump said the Democrats were attempting to execute fraud in an attempt to steal the election from him. He made claims of political corruption and machine tampering and tried to overturn the election. This culminated in the January 6, 2021 United States Capitol attack by Trump supporters. The former president denies any wrongdoing, but his claims were found to be false by courts.

Trump supporters often take to the comment section of King's posts to criticize his opinions—and this one was no different.

"Democrats cheated in 2020 with censorship and election fraud. Moreover, Joe Biden has been a total disaster. Just look at the border, economy and wars we're in. Trump gave us a strong economy, safety and peace. The choice this November is clear," one person wrote.

"Lies, lies, lies and more lies from the evil fiction writer," posted another.

A third added: "Sell that to Americans struggling because of Bidenomics."

However, other commenters didn't agree: "thank you for this reminder of the truth Stephen," an X user wrote.

"Trumps arteries will take care of all of this," commented another.

This isn't the only post that King made about Trump on Thursday, as he also took the opportunity to call the presidential hopeful a "dirty old man."

The critically acclaimed horror author retweeted a video where a woman can be seen singing at the former president's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, and it looks like Trump is leering at her.

"What do you notice in this video of Donald Trump?" the original caption reads, to which King responded: "Just your garden variety dirty old man." At the time of writing, his post had been viewed more than 1.8 million times.

However, in an extended clip shared in the comments for further context, Trump is reacting to an impressive note that the woman sang.

Like all of King's posts, people were divided in the comments. "She's singing you idiot. At least he isn't sniffing her," one person posted.

Another added: "I'm gonna throw up."

King joined the Democratic Party in 1970 and has been an outspoken critic of Trump since before the 77-year-old was elected president in 2016.

On May 24, 2016, King was one of 450 writers to sign an open letter opposing Trump's candidacy, with the author supporting Hillary Clinton's campaign.
