If you are one of the millions of people still waiting for a stimulus check to arrive, there is a high chance that it will be arriving in the post.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) reminded people that the deadline to sign up to have their checks paid directly into their accounts would be passing at noon on Wednesday, May 13.
Users could ask the government to pay their checks into their accounts directly using the Get My Payment app if they hadn't already set a direct payment while filing their tax returns in 2018 or 2019.
While it still takes a few days to have the money deposited into your account even if the IRS has your bank details, it is still a lot quicker than waiting for the post.
"Time is running out for a chance to get these payments several weeks earlier through direct deposit," IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig said before the Wednesday deadline passed.
The IRS said that after the direct deposit deadline passed, it will begin to send out more paper checks at a much quicker rate.
Those who are getting the checks via mail have been told they could arrive from late May into June.
It was previosuly reported that the IRS said they will start by sending checks to those who earn less than $10,000 a year, and continue to do so in weekly income increments of $10,000.
From May 1, checks were sent out to those earning $20,000 and less, followed by checks for those earning less than $30,000 on May 7.
This weekly send of checks depending on household income will continue until June 26, when those in the final bracket earning $100,000 or less will be sent theirs.
An individual filer or head of household can receive up to $1,200 if their adjusted gross income (AGI) is less than $75,000, with married couples receiving up to $2,400. After that, the amount they receive will go down by $5 for every $100 they earned over the $75,000 threshold up until $99,000.
If you want to track the status of your check, you can use the free service provided by the U.S. Postal Service which will notify you when your check will arrive in the mail.
The Informed Delivery allows people to digitally preview their letter-sized mail on their electronic devices.
Users can also download the Informed Delivery App to view their incoming mail and track incoming packages once they signed up using their details.
