The ending of Netflix's hit series Stranger Things will be "very real," according to one of its stars.
David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper on the sci-fi hit, opened up on what fans can expect in the show's fifth and final season.
"The beauty of it is there's a real ending—things will end in a very real way," he said while speaking during a panel at Motor City Comic Con on Sunday.
"I'm sure Netflix will do some spin-offs and there's a play going on in London, there's various ways they can use the storyline, but the storyline of Stranger Things with what we started in season one with the "Upside Down" is one complete story."

The "Upside Down" refers to the alternate universe that Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) disappeared into in the first season.
Harbour also referenced a play opening in London on December 14, by the show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, known as Stranger Things: The First Shadow.
"We wanted to tell an original story based in the Stranger Things universe," the Duffer Brothers said in a behind-the-scenes video promoting the play.
The prequel is set in the town of Hawkins in 1959 and was described as the origin of the "Upside Down."

Harbour also previously spoke about the upcoming season, which returned to filming on Monday after the SAG-AFTRA actors' strike.
"They're terrific, as per usual," Harbour said of the scripts during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. "They continue to outdo themselves, these currently-on-strike writers called the Duffer Brothers."
"It's a hell of an undertaking, too. I mean, the set pieces and the things in the scripts that we saw are bigger than anything we've done in the past."
The show's writers previously sent fans into a frenzy when they teased what could be expected in season five.
"Season 5 is like if season 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that baby was injected with steroids," they teased on their verified Stranger Writers account in April.
In the final episodes, Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) and the rest of the Hawkins' gang will likely have to save the town from Vecna and close the entrance to the Upside Down once and for all.
The Duffer brothers—twins Matt and Ross—explained why the fifth season will be the show's last.
"Seven years ago we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time we predicted the story would last four to five seasons," they wrote in a letter to fans published in February 2022.
"It proved too large to tell in four, but—as you'll soon see for yourselves—we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season, and Season 5 will be the last."
