Sugar Rush has just released Season 3 onto Netflix, which sees the contestants making their best bakes in order to win a $10,000 prize. First, however, they have to please the show's two judges Candace Nelson and Adrian Zumbo, two pastry chefs with decades of experience between them. YouTube star, Hunter March, meanwhile, is the host of the Extra Sweet edition of the cooking competition, which features a number of guest stars including Fortune Feimster, Tyler Posey, and, in her last ever TV appearance, Naya Rivera.

Candace Nelson
Born in Indonesia, Candace Nelson is a former investment banker turned pastry chef. Initially working from home in San Francisco, she then moved to Beverly Hills, Los Angeles to open a cupcake shop named Sprinkles Cupcakes.
From this first store, Sprinkles Cupcakes has now expanded into over 20 stores, leading to 46-year-old Nelson becoming known as the "Cupcake Queen." This led to her becoming a judge of Food Network show Cupcake Wars, which was hosted by Justin Willman, with whom she is reunited in an episode of Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet.
Asked by The Orange County Register why she wanted to make Sugar Rush, she said: "I got together with the production company I always wanted to work with, Magic Elves, and we all agreed that what the world needs is a great dessert competition show and I wanted to attach it to Netflix. They're the future. They loved the idea."

Adriano Zumbo
Australian pastry chef Adriano Zumbo is the child of two Italian parents, who owned the local supermarket and gave Zumbo his taste for sweet things. After apprenticing with noted pastry chefs in Australia and France, he began making baked goods for local cafes from home. He has since grown his business from one patisserie to 10.
In Australia, he is known for his appearances on that country's version of MasterChef, as well as his own cooking shows Zumbo and Zumbo's Just Desserts. The 38-year-old is making his U.S. TV debut with Sugar Rush.
Sugar Rush Season 3, meanwhile, is hosted by Hunter March, best known for his work for AwesomenessTV, the online video company that makes YouTube videos and other digital content. He is also the host of emoji-themed game show Emogenius.
Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet guest judges
As ever, March, Nelson, and Zumbo were joined by a different guest judge for each episode. In Season 3, these were a follows:
- Episode 1: Fortune Feimster, comedian and former star of The Mindy Project
- Episode 2: Naya Rivera, former star of Glee
- Episode 3: Justin Willman, magician, and star of Netflix's Magic for Humans
- Episode 4: Tyler Posey, former star of Teen Wolf
- Episode 5: Garcelle Beauvais, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member
- Episode 6: Ron Ben-Israel, professional baker and former host of Sweet Genius
The guest judge line-up for Sugar Rush: Extra Sweet was notable for being the last filmed appearance of Naya Rivera, who died in July after filming her judging spot in February. As such, her episode of the competition features a dedication to the Glee actor.
